verakahmi Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Hi ! Everyone this will be my first post wich i have just begun creating my site for selling the handmade gifts i make :) I would like to change just the category fonts on the left I would really appreciate if anyone can help me :rolleyes:
GemRock Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 It is defined in the stylesheet.css. The following classes are relevant to the categories box: 1. infoBoxHeading; 2. infoBox; 3. infoBoxContents; 4. boxText. Not all of them have fonts defined, though. worldpar Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 CHANGE CATEGORY FONT COLOR Look for this code in catalog/includes/boxes/categories.php $categories_string .= ''; if (isset($cPath_array) && in_array($counter, $cPath_array)) { $categories_string .= ''; } // display category name $categories_string .= $tree[$counter]['name']; if (isset($cPath_array) && in_array($counter, $cPath_array)) { $categories_string .= ''; } if (tep_has_category_subcategories($counter)) { $categories_string .= '->'; } $categories_string .= ''; --------------------------------------------- Change to: $categories_string .= ''; if (isset($cPath_array) && in_array($counter, $cPath_array)) { $categories_string .= ''; } // display category name $categories_string .= $tree[$counter]['name']; if (isset($cPath_array) && in_array($counter, $cPath_array)) { $categories_string .= ''; } if (tep_has_category_subcategories($counter)) { $categories_string .= '->'; } $categories_string .= ''; *note: #000000 is balck This will change the color of the text in the Cataegories box. If you want to change the color of the number beside the category "(3)" also do this: In the on the same page look for this code: //------------------------ if (tep_not_null($cPath)) { $new_path = ''; reset($cPath_array); while (list($key, $value) = each($cPath_array)) { unset($parent_id); unset($first_id); $categories_query = tep_db_query("select c.categories_id, cd.categories_name, c.parent_id from " . (int)$languages_id ."' order by sort_order, cd.categories_name"); if (tep_db_num_rows($categories_query)) { $new_path .= $value; while ($row = tep_db_fetch_array($categories_query)) { $tree[$row['categories_id']] = array('name' => $row['categories_name'], 'parent' => $row['parent_id'], 'level' => $key+1, 'path' => $new_path . TABLE_CATEGORIES . " c, " . TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION . " cd where c.parent_id = '" . (int)$value . "' and c.categories_id = cd.categories_id and cd.language_id='" . (int)$languages_id ."' order by sort_order, cd.categories_name"); if (tep_db_num_rows($categories_query)) { $new_path .= $value; while ($row = tep_db_fetch_array($categories_query)) { $tree[$row['categories_id']] = array('name' => $row['categories_name'], 'parent' => $row['parent_id'], 'level' => $key+1, 'path' => $new_path . verakahmi Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Thank you very much for the fast reply :) I don't seem to find the relevance between your code and my code. Maybe beacuse I am a beginner. garydarling Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 The problem with editing stylesheet.css to change the Category fonts ONLY is that the CSS classes used to define those fonts are shared by all the other boxes you see on the page, e.g. Manufacturers, What's New, etc. A change to the font in any of the .infobox classes changes the font in all boxes using the class. Adding style attributes inside the categories.php file seems like a troublesome fix; wouldn't it be better to create a new CSS div or class just for categories and somehow call that class the same way infobox is currently called? That way all the styling is still inside the CSS file. I'm not a PHP expert, so I don't know how to code that. Gary
garydarling Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Check out this tip from the online documentation. It shows you how to create a new box class - you should be able to create a new class in the css file called something like '.CategoryBox' and give it all the styling you want. http://www.oscommerce.info/docs/english/e_..._box_class.html Gary
garydarling Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Better yet: http://www.oscommerce.info/docs/english/e_..._box_class.html Gary
