MrData Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Dear all, I know this subject has been referenced in many a forum post, as I have read the majority of them. After having done a local install of osC 2.2 and theming it to my satisfaction, I decided to make it live. In my local install I had the Register Globals Patch applied to my catalog files, so I was under the assumption uploading the catalog to my webserver would go without hickups. But boy, was I wrong ... I get stuck in a loop at step 2 at the 'Please customize the new installation with the following options' page. All forum posts lead to the solution to have the php flag reflect 'register globals On', but as my catalog resides at a host I cannot alter the PHP.ini directly. Thus I had to alter the .htaccess file in the httpdocs/ directory to read 'php_flag register_globals On'. This solution was also given by the support site from my host, so I know they can handle this option. To my surprise and dismay, however, there's NO change. I still get stuck in the same loop at the same point. This feels like Groundhog Day - the osCommerce way. Naturally, I'm doing something wrong, or overlooking something, computers do not make mistakes: they carry out wrongly entered commands. Could someone please point me to MY mistake, I'm eager to learn. Should anyone need any more information before making a suggestion, please feed this post. Your prompt reply is greatly appreciated in advance, Gerard PHP, Apache all in the most current versions
koolkuzz Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 I had the same problem, I used to get stuck on step 2 of the installation, to fix this I enabled "register_long_arrays" and then it worked :)
