Category Images

I'm trying to make sense of how images are displayed on the home page of the store front as well as when you click on a category. It seems that there is no rhyme or reason. For example when I go to the home page of the store, OSC automatically puts images up and at the top it says "whats new here".. is there a way to control what images pop up? In addition, when I click on certain categories, just random images pop up from different categories. Example: I click T-Shirts and images pop up from many different categories, ie.. shoes, pants, whatever? How can I control this? any help with this would be greatly appreciated..

The images on the front page is the what's new center box. The only way to turn it off is to take the code out of the index.php file or install the featured product contrib to take its place.

You must have linked products through your admin and that is why you age getting products from 1 categorie to another. Double check all products for copied and linked products.

ill give that a try ... i will get back to you and let you know what happened... another question i had that i think i forgot to type in there was that when i click on a category... i would imagine that all of the sub categories should come up in the main window but this isnt happening ... any suggestions??? the only thing that comes up is a basically the same thing as on my main index page...
