Database import page half renders and halts

Hello,

During the installation phase of oscommerce, I am getting the database import page half rendered

If you want to see what I mean goto

http://segment.homelinux.net/oscommerce-2....stall/index.php

Fill in localhost as the server name and change the database name to whatever you like (just so you can see what i'm getting)

I have tried with a valid mysql user/password manually using the mysql command line and it is able to create the appropriate tables etc.

All available phpinfo() information is available at http://segment.homelinux.net/test.php for the moment.

It appears to me that the install_2.php page is halting at the first if statement.. but I'm not 100% sure.

Can someone suggest something I can do? I've already tried using php5, reinstalling php4, reinstalling apache2, removing apache2 and trying apache1.. you name it i've tried it.

register_globals & register_long_arrays are on ..
