carabs Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 I have a client that only uses their ecom store (running the newest version of OSCom) once a year for a large three day sale. This sale is currently going on (with one day left). We have had our entire semi-dedicated server lock up three times now. A simple reboot "fixes" the freeze of course. But I can't have this happen tomorrow (Sunday) since its our biggest sale day. SO my very urgent question.. Has anyone ever had OSCom freeze up their entire server? A few simple tech specs.. -When it has froze we have never had more then 110 users on the site at once. And other times throughout the day we have had 150+ for almost an hour straight with no issues. -The server is pretty new with a dual core processor, 6 gig of ram, and some type of raid HD config. (sorry i don't know more than this, I did not purchase the server) -The support person of the hosting company said the server was set to allow 500 simultaneous connections. but i do not know how many simultaneous MySQl connections. -The only errors that were logged was some type of Kernal something (I had very little info handed to me about this, and I am just the designer). And when it froze up a few hours ago, the last thing that was logged was a connection to the MySQL DB And thats about it. One of my contacts (who is not very technical) thinks it might an OSCommerce issue, or the new ram they added is bad. The hosting support said they see their may be some corruption with our DB, so I don't know if that may be it. All I do know is we have a big issue. Any thoughts/direction would be great. carabs Posted April 8, 2007 Author Posted April 8, 2007 The error turned out to be bad memory. I figured it was not a problem with OSC, but i figured I would ask anyway :) Jeff Conklin
