Need advanced help

This is my first major website, and am having some problems the with the category listings. Here's the website.

www.thesagesgrove.com

Click on a category that has sub-categories in it, such as "herbs". When you click on it, the products do not change so it almost looks like you didn't click on anything until you notice that you can click on a sub-category. In the default OS Commerce when you click on a category it shows products within that category, not what's on the main page. Any idea how I can change it back to that?

not sure how you want it customized but the stock osc won't display products in parent categories. There is a contribution (and several posts) describe how to fix that, or you could duplicate the code from this case:

and you may need to display the sub-categories at the same time which is part of the stock osc.

Nice site. Check out the Great Categories contribution. Much easier for people to navigate categories and sub-categories, plus it's relatively easy to install, you replace /includes/boxes/categories.php, add some styles to stylesheet.css and three new images.

Ok I tried the contribution that EricK linked and it did nothing. (Great Categories CSS v2.1)

So I took a look at my index.php and the default OSC index.php.

They both have the code

Im still a bit confused here as to what to do. All I want it to do at this point is to display products in a manner that this website has them.

www.microtekpcs.com (its a default OSC install)

So when I click on a category it will show the images of the subcategories and the new products within them. And it also expands the category list when you click on a category so you can see all of the categories instead of the sub-categories replacing the categories on the list.

Ok I actually got it to show the subcategory images at the top finally! However now the alignment is all screwed up.

Forgot to say that I added that code just under :
