Hi Jennifer,

 

First and foremost, the talking head you've got on the homepage is kind of annoying. If anything, replace the audio with a real person talking. It goes on for quite a while, and I didn't like listening to a computer generated voice for that long. At least have a mute button so people can turn it off. Also, when I went to another page then back to the homepage, the whole thing started over again. This happened 3 or 4 times clicking back and forth, but stopped afterwards. I don't know if you have a cookie set to play it once but, if you do, it's not working... =)

 

Actually, I just clicked on your Mother's Day link and I'm listening to the damn thing again right now. Argh!

I agree with the above reply, the talking head has to go! If you want to leave it, I would suggest having it load, but only play if the user presses a play button.

 

I also think that the scrolling boxes on the sides are incredibly distracting. I was trying to browse some of your products, but my eyes just kept seeing the scrolling products.

You really need to make that talking head disappear! I clicked off your site straight away thinking it was one of those "Download this ebook now to make your 1st million" sites!

Thanks for the feedback. I lowered the number of repetitions of the "talking head" and added the mute and pause/play feature. :thumbsup:

I straight out recommend eliminating the talking head from your homepage. If you must include it somewhere, I would recommend the 'about us' page or the 'contact us' page - but that is just my opinnion.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Everyone so far keeps telling me to get rid of the "talking head", but my sales have increased 150% since I installed it. Go figure? :huh: I think I'll leave it there for a bit to see if it's just a coincidence.

Are you sure that no other factor could have been responsible for your increase in sales? Was adding the talking head the only change you made at the time?
