When I try to update anything in my admin, (a product or a configuration setting for example) instead of updating, it deletes everything. If I try to update a product all of the product information disappears. What could possibly do this? Does anyone know what files control this so I know where to start looking?

Adam, if this is a shop with just a few modifications, it would probably be easier to just compare your admin files with that of a stock osC admin. You should be able locate the errant code that is causing your problems a lot faster in this manner.

Download a stock osc from the links above and use a file comparison tool such as Beyond Compare or WinMerge. A better comparison would be to use a backup of your store when it was working correctly.

I figured out that the problem isn't in the files. It's in the database. I know this because I loaded it into a fresh install of osc and it now has the same problem. I'm having problems fixing it though because my oldest database backup from a month ago still causes the problem, even though I never noticed that problem until recently. ??? I'm not sure what to do now.

I'm stumped. I don't know what to do.

Do you have a database backup to restore?

And no need to post 4 times.
