duban Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Been working and editing this site for months now...just need a couple more refinements. Please criticize all you want. Any tips or comments is most welcome. My Store dex
bill110 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 All your prices show $0.00 Your catagory images are too big. They expand the screen so you have to scroll left and right but also they are not in focus. In your header file where it calls the image for your logo you should change the title to your store. on mousing over it still says osCommerce. Your links above your logo do not work. Except for home. You need to add shipping info, Privacy, condition of use, etc.. I'm assuming that you are still building the site so hopefully you do not take these as criticism. LioMandi Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I agree, your shop doesnt look inviting...especially with all the watermarked images...not professional to my eyes...
denzel2364 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I can see what you are trying to do but there are a few issues still to be sorted! The stylesheet colour "light grey" unfortunately to me registers as a default oscommerce site. but thats my first few seconds opinion. Maybe have your orange with the blue edge as the .gifs. That will mean you have a corporate identity for your business. Like in the uk, Halfords is all orange. Also Orange phone company. Starting at the top, the "Home, Abouts us... etc" either needs to change to buttons or deleted. THis is because the logo is clean and contemporary and works with the background + buttons but doesnt with the writing/table at the top. Maybe just add them to the information box. I agree with the watermarked images being not inviting. It just a typical thing with images. They will copy them anyway possible. I know, im a graphic designer!! The buttons on the products dont match the feel to the shop. e.g. 'reviews etc' If the blue gradient was a closer look to the ones in the header i think it would be more successful. Ever thought of having a flash intro/header? The logo could look 'sweet' - but thats me! lol - if you are interested, PM me!!! :-) A little bit of advice is watch out for Pixelated images. THey make my blood boil and has the unprofessianal approach! Make your category images a lot smaller And they will look a lot better. Well i hope i helped you consider a few things
