curtis_george1 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Hello, The reason I am stating this is that I am looking for the best option for a gateway. The Problem: I get people that put stuff in a cart at least 2 or 3 times a day. The problem is that I never see any sales. To be exact we have sold 4 things in the past 2 months. I was wondering if it might be the paypal that deters them. Thanks, Curtis Visit My Website

Lots of people add things to the carts then for what ever reason do not complete the purchase. Could be the pricing of your items, store layout anything!! Look at your conversion stats, visitors to purchasers. if there is a huge gap it is likely to be more about the above mentioned things. I have not looked at your site so i am basing this on probability Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
HSMagic Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 It has a drop-shipper feel about it and there is a good chance the buyer starts comparing prices before checkout. With so many google/amazon ads being posted... 1 click and they are gone.

See what you mean, too many out bound links there really, index page should really be a medium for drawing customers into your site not away from. OK if you make loads from ad sense, otherwise its a distraction from your own products Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
Dennis_gull Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 The only way to increase sales fast is by advertising. Install the affiliate system and let people generate traffic for you. And why do you have an amazon and ebay link on the site? like Gary said, you will probably drive people away that way. You should want people to stay on the site rather then giving them away.
curtis_george1 Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 Thank you for your comments. Sounds like I need to make it more a wholesale website without dropship(which is what my wife told me). I also need more ways for others to help me sell(affiliates) and less outgoing links(google and amazon). I guess my logic behind the outgoing links was to make a couple bucks if no one was really buying. Also my wife made me feel guilty by referring to the movie 'Miracle on 34th Street'. I guess she thought it was the same basic concept. Curtis
