Why is my shop not showing purchases

Good day to you all.

 

Can someone please help. I am very new to the commerse shop and I have just bought one all set up. I am at the stage of marketing my shop and I have tested the site as a dummy customer.

 

I can login and do the usual stuff and order and send payments etc. However In my shop admin it does not display any orders or products sold. What can i do because at this rate there is no point me having the shop.

 

 

Hope some one can help me please

There are a number of things that can cause that. First off, try placing an order using the Check/Money Order option, if you have not. That will eliminate payment processors. If it still doesn't work, check admin->Localization->Order Status to be sure there are entries there.

I have tried the money order and it worked ok.

 

But regards paypal i can pay for an item i click to go back to merchant and then log back in but it seems to want to confirm the order again. As if i am in a loop so the money is being taken but the order is not being placed.

You shouldn't have to log back in when you return from paypal. The first thing I suggest, if you have not already, is to install the oscommerce paypal IPN contribution. You will need it anyway of you are using paypal so it is best to do that now.

i'm having the same problem! i can do a check order and that will show up in the orders section but when i do a paypal order the is no copy of it...... no way to tell what was ordered! HELP PLEASE...... i have pulled out all of my hair trying to figure this out and cant!

What is this i need? i can choose paypal on the modules section but thats about where i stop...

 

I think i have i dont know. I tried last night after speaking to you Jack. Inserting the script i got from paypal.

 

However i dont know how i put them into the website. I went to file manager and uplaoded some files that were from the zip file i downloaed from paypal.

 

This just messed up the whole site. I then tried to go into the website as my test cusomer and it would not let me even go to the checkout.

 

Then i could not go and log in.

 

So i restored the data an back up and all is working again But not my paypal.

How do i go about setting this up properly is there some thing i am missing to do or what?

Go to the above menu, Comunity->Contributions, and search for oscommerce paypal ipn. Download that contribution (use version 2.2 since I know that works). Un-archive it on your computer, upload its contents to your site on the server, go to admin->modules and install it. Edit the settings to use your paypal email address and set it to live. It should work for you then.
