PWA - Purchase Without Account contrib question

I have installed the PWA code, but noticed that no account is created. Has anyone changed this to that it actually creates an account and inserts a record in the customers table with address information etc?

 

I noticed one addon in PWA, but that would not insert a new customer record. I suppose I can just hack the code myself if need be... but would prefer using something that's already working.

 

ideas?

well - we have hundreds of orders per day and it's easier to find something by customer name than order number. thanks for not answering my question

Just what do you mean by

That is where you customer info is with that contrib. If you want a different answer then uninstall the mod and go with the original customer account.

 

By The Way we are all volunteers here and don't need to be treated that way.

I disagree - the point of this mod is to be able to purchase without an account, the mod has nothing to do with you "creating an account for the customer" on the fly.

 

This is my goal since I would like to have a trail of order for people who continually purchase using this option. You on the other hand have no way of attributing these order to one individual.

No need to be so offended. I don't recall calling you any names. Your question has been answered. Because you disagree with the answer doesn't change the fact of the matter. By definition, an account is created in oscommerce when you enter your information along with a email address and a password. Without the email address and password, it isn't an account. The purpose of PWA is to allow customers to order from your site without having their email address recorded, in other words, without creating an account. As for attributing this order to a certain person, the only way you can do that is in the orders section. Since they do not have an account, the information isn't available anywhere else. It is the price paid for allowing the customers to not create an account. You want to have it both ways, which is not possible in the first place, but would be deceiving and unethical if it were.
