hecticben Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Hey guys, I'm new to osCommerce and I'm working on a cart that had been setup and maintained by a previous web designer. He has installed a Paypal module, but I don't know how to use it etc. It doesn't give me any details about it, just the name "Paypal".. Here are the options it gives me: Enable Paypal Module: True Email Address: [email protected] Transaction Currency: Selected Currency Payment Zone: --none-- Set Order Status: default Sort order of display: 0 I really don't have a clue lol.. Do we have to get a PayPal merchant account? How do I get it working with the shopping cart? Any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks a lot! Ben Quote
Jack_mcs Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 You need to go to paypal.com and open a business account, which is free. Use the email for that account in the settings for the module. It should work at that point. Guest Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Hey.. New question ... Do I need to have SSL enabled to use Paypal? Thanks, Ben No, but would you create an account, purchase, etc on a non ssl site? Quote
hecticben Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Well it seems that with the SSL enabled (the old webmaster enabled it) an error occurs when you need to sign up.. I'm guessing cos we don't have SSL or something.. this is the first time I've ever worked on a cart before.. any advice? Ben Quote

hecticben Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Oh ok.. I'm just leaving the office.. but surely when you sign up to the cart you don't use your credit cart details.. I dunno how the paypal module works.. do you actually input your CC details on our site? or when you click checkout, does it take you to the paypal website? Ben Quote
