Problem with categories

Has anyone had this problem?

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/dnb/public_html/shop/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 182

This is with PHP 5 on linux apache 1.33, when you go to the admin to edit the categories and products.
