Problem in .htaccess

hi guys,

 

I have installed oscommece on my localhost and protected my admin area using .htaccess file but when i access it

locally like http://localhost/catalog/admin it asks for username and password...

after entering the right details it comes again on same login passwd window..

 

please help me out from this problem ......

 

i have described admin:admin in my .htpasswd file !!!!!!

 

but it cannot gives me the access ?

 

Tell me the problem and plz give me the solution !!!!!!

If your web hosting has a CPanel or something like that, try the "Password Protected Directories" or "Folder Protected" feature. Use it to lock your admin folder, that will do ;)
