photofxplus Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Free Downloads FX v2 is now available for download This contribution is intended for store owners who would like to offer download products that require the purchase of a registration number to activate. This new version allows the store owner to insert multiple Free Downloads products, creates a random registration number for each, sets the quantity of each at 1, the weight at 0, and allows for editing of the model number, description, and thumbnail image for the products. The store owner may also edit the characters, the number of characters, and add the same special characters to each registration number generated. Upon download of a Free Downloads product the customer will receive an email with an activation link. Clicking this link will take them back to the stores product info page where the product will be displayed and they can complete the purchase. The customer will also find an initial registration request link on their My Accounts page and after registration they may request to resend the information from the My Accounts page. When using automatic insertion a download file name is entered for a product name. Depending on the number of products inserted - new file names are created by adding the product_id to the end of each file name. Before uploading your download files you will need to copy each file and rename each to the created names plus assign the created registration numbers accordingly. This new information will be displayed by the contribution after adding the products. Downloads with registration numbers are identical products but require different registration numbers to activate. So when each product is added its quantity is set at 1. Then when downloaded that particular product is no longer available but the customer receives a unique email link that will bring them back to the same product and the registration number for that product. When a registration request is received the quantity is reset at 1 to allow for Stock Checkout values. If after a period of time the product has been downloaded but not registered the store owner can reinstate the product from the Admin panel by changing the status and quantity.
