Hi new to OSC. Hello everyone,

Is it at all possible to download the files and do additions to the package off line going on holiday tonight and want to dump it all onto my laptop .

Use a program like EasyPHP or XAMPP to add a server to your laptop. Then you can have a copy of your store there, no need for an internet hookup to make changes and view them.

Thanks Bernard can I ask another question HOW does it worK? do I have to load a backup of osc or copy the files from my PC to where in my lap top going away in 5 hrs Need help desperately.

Please, I've been reading through the forum for some time now and this is the answer given to the question each time.

 

I've downloaded XAMPP & it seemes to hang when I ran the .bat.

I gave up on it and downloaded EasyPHP. Running that file I get the message 'Servers Starting',... and nothing else.

Support sites seem to be in German and French respectivly, so I do not know if this is the way the programs are supposed to work or not.

 

Assuming they are working correctly... What now? I have my store copied from the website to a dir on my machine, and I have the Db backed up, but don't know what to do with them.

 

As stated, I've been looking in the forums for a while and don't get much more than the above in the way of instructions.

 

I'm with Alber... More details are needed for me to do this...
