sheltonjb Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 hi folks, i downloaded the paypal_ipn from the contrib but i thought it would just overwrite the old paypal_ipn in the modules, but when i went to do that all i saw was a 'paypa.php' file in the modules. so, is the original somewhere else, and i overwrite that? or did it just not exist on the original and i put that in......where does it go? was i right that it goes in the payments module? thanks alot, Shelton Brown Web/Graphic Designer

Were you having problems with the first ipn module? (not working etc.) or just looking for something different. Did you read the install instructions for the one you just installed or did you just assume it would be like the first? The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? So now i'm trying to edit bits and don't know where they are...as far as i can see there isn't even a 'paypal_ipn' file only a paypal.php file... i've downloaded the v1.4 contrib but just dont know where to put it, as i was going to replace the other but dont see it....hence my question Shelton Brown Web/Graphic Designer
satish Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Paypla IPn contrib is not available in out of box osc but is available as a contrib. whenever You want to change a contrib or a module do first uninstall and then replace the code. As some data base inserts are left in data base if uninstall is not done. With Paypal IPN this will happen. So either clean the DB or first place the initial code and uninstall and then go with new code. Satish Mantri Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site. If you cannot find it post the contribution number or complete title of the one you are trying to use I do not believe that any of the ipn modules replace the paypal.php file but add another seperate file that will give you another choice in the payment modules screen of your admin. After the install you will probably still see the old paypal module as a choice you will just not use it. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem?
