Sub-Products or Linking Products together

Hi all,

 

I am looking at doing a online store for a friend that sells collector coins. One of the fundamental offerings of the company is offering coins as a box set. For example, Lord of the Rings collector coins box set. So this box set is one product.

 

However, the company requires that the contents of these boxes (individual coins) can be sold separately also. Now it's a no brainer to simply add these individual coins as products themselves.

 

However, when a box set is displayed (or vice-versa) my friend wants the user to see this option on-page.

 

For instance, when a user goes to the box set details, they are also shown a breakdown (with thumbs) of the individual coins in that box with links to their respective detail pages.

 

Any thoughts, or know of any contrib that could aid in this?

Just installed it, will do the job just fine with a few little mods (I also want to display a short blurb from the linked product's description).

 

Thanks for your help, 'related products' was pretty much the only phrase I didn't try in my fruitless search.
