Folks, I am very very new to osCommerce and am trying to learn it by building a shop.

I run on Vista Ultimate, have installed IIS 7, PHP 5, MySQL. Tested all and they work, can run php pages, can access db's using MySQL Command Line all based on using 'localhost'. Have created a database called 'myshop' and even managed to load the osCommerce.sql file into it using SQL command line. I did this after many failed attempts at the 'install'

My problem is that when I run the osCommerce files (ver 2.2) the first pages open up and I click the install button, select the two radio buttons and click continue. I enter the details for db server (localhost), name (root), pasword (password), db name (myshop), select persistance, select database and click continue. The install stops at the next page where it is trying to connect to the db, all that shows is the first part of the screen and just sits there. It does not come back with any error message no matter how long you leave it - gives the impression of 'looping' or looking for something.

The catalog directory is at c:/inetpub/wwwroot/catalog and I start the install by using http://localhost/catalog

I have followed the instructions and set up the php.ini and my.ini files to the best of my knowledge even tried the settings from this forum but no joy.

The server is 'localhost'.

Maybe it will not run with this configuration

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated
