need help on editing cpath

i am trying to edit the cpath to look like the ones in specials.php, and i tried to look at the loops and it looks totally different from the one in specials.php..

 

in index.php...

this is because the default layout is different with the specials page. The cpath is not used its only the products_id. You need to create or use a function to retrieve the path. There is one available from the catalog\admin\includes\functions\general.php Copy it to your catalog end in general.php and use it. It is called tep_generate_category_path
