Zip Code Error

I have configured through the admin panel the Zip Code minimum to be 5. The problem is when creating an account, regardless of how long the zip code is people are returned the error message:

 

"Your Zip Code must contain a minimum of 5 characters."

 

You can input a Zip Code of 5 or 9, and still get the message.

 

Has anybody else had this problem or know how to fix it?

have you made change to your catalog\create_account.php? By default the number of chars is controlled from the osc admin for this.
