Guest Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 The designer who set up my store left the company who did my site for me and I need to change the intro text on the front page of my site (new phone number). I have never done anything more complicated than add categories and products to the site and I can't find out where the file is containing my intro :'( ... any ideas ? Thanks in advance Andrew

Guest Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 hi,,i think its in catalog>includes>languages>english file named index.php I found that file, the text in there isn't the same as displayed on my front page, its an older version of the text... has he (the designer) likely to have created a new file somewhere? or how do I link this text back to the front page once I have amended it?
rassa Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 well i have no idea,,try adding that page and see if anything happens

Thanks in advance Andrew Andrew, If you have your site backed up on your local drive (and you should :) ), use a text editor to search the catalog for unique text, e.g., Our aim is to provide, that shows up only on your main page. The search result will show in which file the "newer" text resides. jon includes\languages\english\index.php (Line 13): define('TEXT_MAIN', 'This is a default setup ...'); It's all just ones and zeros....
