I originally built my site on my live hosting server i have a package where the hosting company sold me a domain name with a copy of OSC on it !!

Anyway things have moved on and my site needs overhauling which i am trying to do on my computer "localhost" i have installed Apache, Mysql, Phpmyadmin, etc ...

I have installed a clean copy of osc and it works fine.. i then moved on to download a copy of my own site, have put this into htdocs, changed config file and i can get my front page up, but anything i click on comes up page not found !!

Now because the clean copy of osc works i am thinking this must be a file within my own calalog file ?? any ideas ??

Help greatly appreciated, i have spent sooooo many hours trying to get this to work !! >_<

when you click one of the links which don't work, what shows up in your web browser's address bar?

is the name of the folder which your oscommerce files are in called - kimbosreptileworld ?

If its not then change it to that.

for those links to work correctly, the folder called kimbosreptileworld should be in your servers root directory and inside this folder should be the catalog folder.

Yes in htdocs i have a folder kimbosreptileworld, that then contains all of my folders for the catalog !!

However, looking at the clean osc installation i notice what ever i click on directs to catalog\products.php etc which is in the main catalog file, where as there is no file kimbosreptileworld/books ?? i have installed chemo's seo urls on this, is that what the problem is and is there a way of resolving it ??

Sorted.......

I have turned off SEO URLS in my admin panel, this is now routing my clicks via the index.php or product.php finding the right paths to the catalog..

Thanks for your help john....you would not beleive the hours i have spent trying to get this to work...

I now just have to remember wht i did to get it to work on my server when i turn it live again after the updates
