I have done many OS Commerce installs but I have yet to figure out what the best scenario is to create your own site from scratch using the OS commerce platform.

 

For example you see templates all over the place from templatemonster, algozone etc. These guys are obviously building the layout and then applying the design through the OS commerce file header.php, column left etc etc. Is that really all there is to it?

 

I am trying to build my site from scratch and trying to figure out how involved it really is. Thanks for your help.
