Installation Problems

I am trying this on a test machine which is on Windows Running Mysql 5.0 ,PHP 5 and Apache 2.2.

I tested and found that Apache and MySql and PHP all are working in tandem.

However when I start the Installation I come to the screen which says

http://xxxx/catalog/install/install.php?step=2

 

"New Installation

 

Please customize the new installation with the following options:

 

Import Catalog Database:

 

Install the database and add the sample data

Checking this box will import the database structure, required data, and some sample data. (required for first time installations)

Automatic Configuration:

 

Save configuration values

Checking this box will save all entered data during the installation procedure to the appropriate configuration files on the server.

"

 

After I click Continue it comes back to the same screen.It does not proceed further.

Can somebody help me.I am trying my first installation.

I have the same problem running Apache 2.2.3 / PHP 4.2.0 / mysql 5.0.27

 

I have set register_long_arrays = On and am still experiencing the same problem.

 

I'm running my install on a local host using EasyPHP.

 

Any suggestions and help would be great as this is my first osCommerce project after having spent the last 8 years using Miva Merchant.

I also changed the register_globals=on and the problem has been solved now.Please restart all the services.
