world wide tax info?

Im working on a international site at the moment. That means I will have to add the tax class for each country, so I was wondering if theres any contribution that will add the tax class (similar to world_zones). It would take days to fill in all that information otherwise and I dont even know where to check the tax information for each country. (although Im in EU so other EU countries dont pay their tax)

Unless you have offices in every country you shouldn't have to charge tax. I am in Canada and don't charge Americans any tax as I have no need to, or desire to remit it to the US Gov't.

Is this for a specific purpose???

I would do some more research into your particular situation before doing ALL that work. I don't collect tax for any other country other than the one I live and operate in. I don't know anything about EU taxes. Search online or the E-Commerce Laws forum section, you might find your answer there, but it is always best to check with your local tax office as to what your obligations are (and get it in writing from them) as you are responsible for all legit taxes due.

Check the active countries contribution. It has a script to setup the tax zones for a group of countries/states It basically replaces the stock geo_zones.php. Setting up the percentages should not take you long because you should create the tax folders based on a tax percentage and not by some name. Then you insert all countries/states to that percentage folder. If that's the case then with that script you should be able to set them up fast.
