Hi people:

Someone else made my site for me from thier computer. But from my end on my computer I can't see where or how to change my welcome page, or how to add something to my check out page? Is it possible that I don't have access to the whole os programme? If this is so then can I download OS again over my site without causing any problems? If this makes any sense to anyone I would appreciate any help you can give me... thanks.. :'(

If the site you are talking about it's installed on your server, just enter wwwyourdomain.com/admin and change whatever you want.

But, may be the person who have the oscommerce in his pc is ussing the EasyPhp soy the instalation is just in his pc and you cant get access to it.

Hi Omar:

Thank you for your reply, I can get to the admin side as you have suggested... and I can see all the information, I can add my inventory etc... but when I try to go into anything else to edit it such as file manager/shopping cart confirmation etc I get an error asking me to please set the right user permissions on: and I can't find where to do that, so I think you are right and he must have used the easyphp (whatever that may be :'( ) And I have no idea how to get to my welcome blurb to change it...do you know if there is any way around this? can I install the programme on my pc and just "copy" my website www.serenityonline.ca on to the new install, so I save everything that is already my store?

To change text you should download the relevant text file by ftp , then edit it in a text editor like for instance notepad and then upload it to your server/hosting again.

For instance your front page text in english can be edited in this file.

includes/languages/english/index.php
