Guest Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Hi people: Someone else made my site for me from thier computer. But from my end on my computer I can't see where or how to change my welcome page, or how to add something to my check out page? Is it possible that I don't have access to the whole os programme? If this is so then can I download OS again over my site without causing any problems? If this makes any sense to anyone I would appreciate any help you can give me... thanks.. :'(
omar2886 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 If the site you are talking about it's installed on your server, just enter wwwyourdomain.com/admin and change whatever you want. Hi Omar: Thank you for your reply, I can get to the admin side as you have suggested... and I can see all the information, I can add my inventory etc... but when I try to go into anything else to edit it such as file manager/shopping cart confirmation etc I get an error asking me to please set the right user permissions on: and I can't find where to do that, so I think you are right and he must have used the easyphp (whatever that may be :'( ) And I have no idea how to get to my welcome blurb to change it...do you know if there is any way around this? can I install the programme on my pc and just "copy" my website www.serenityonline.ca on to the new install, so I save everything that is already my store?

usernamenone Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 You need to make your files writeable with the exception of the 2 configure.php files http://www.interspire.com/content/articles...ile-Permissions Some sites need all files and folders read and writeable except the configure.php files
