HELP WITH TAX module!!!!!!

-fred-

Recommended Posts

I have a California store setup and taxes are not working on my site for some reason.

I have the following setup in OSC:

Countries: (bunch of em listed)

Zones: CA

Tax Zones: United States, CA

Tax Classes: CA, California

Tax Rates: Class(ca) Zone(CA) Rate(7.25) Priority (0)

Any help or suggestions or just a pointing to a good set of instructions would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-fred-

When you tested the sales to see if tax is applied correctly, did you use a dummy customer that was registered in the state of california? It won't show at all for customers registered outside tax zones.

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

My first test i tried from my home state (other than ca) and nothing was applied there. I also tried a dummy account located in ca and still nothing was applied.

Are you implying that i would have to add a new zone & rate for each individual state?

Ok it seems i found the error on my part. When I update add products, I did not have the "Tax Class" field set to Taxable Goods. Soon as I changed this the problem seemed to be fixed.
