sammyhere Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 How can we use oscommerce for virtual (downloadable) products? Its given in oscommerce features that we can use oscommerce for virtual (downloadable) products but how do we do that actually? Also can we configure physical (shippable) and virtual (downloadable) products in the same oscommerce based website? Cheers !!
zhexiang Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Yeah, sure. In order for people to download virtual products like ebooks, templates (in my website in my profile), you need to have a product attribute for that particular product. First, simply add a product at the admin site. Next go to product attribute. You'll see a text field for file. Type in the name of that file. Then make sure you upload the file to the server at the osc download folder. You don't have to configure anything. Any product that you put to have a file in attribute will be fine.

lupis Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 To take this further, could someone please provide some help with how to stop downloadable products being given to the customer if they select to pay via a bank deposit method. If they currently select to pay via bank deposit, they are automatically served up the downloadable product even before they have sent payment. Any help on that would be appreciated.
