Well, if you are a legitimate business and working with wholesalers, the Manufacturers will aloow you to use their images and descriptions. It is best to invest in a great digital camera and take your own pics. They look better because you show the customer a better view (usually) and writing your own descriptions are usually better, as well. Always, watermark your pics.

Take for instance, a product you sell that you know well. You could use the techical data (weights, dimensions, torque, etc) and write a catchy description based upon your own experience with the porduct. Re-write the manufacturer's product page to suit your space.

If you dont have trade contacts then try searching for "wholesale" in goggle and you will find websites some free some pay which will supply you with these contacts This isnt the best way two get Trade contacts but its a start and stay away from dropshipping contacts since they are nothing more than a middle man and as such will only be taking a % of your sales

wow great advice. So overall I'm alone and I have to find product to sell myself I'm taking it. I'm not a store in any way, i'm actually a sales rep that works for a software company we sell e-commerce erp and logistcs software.

So in short I have to start making some calls to companies that sell good I wanna sell at my site?

Do you really expect someone to give you their source of income links? You have got to be kidding.

It is hard work to come up with a profitable income and someone is not going to hand that list over to anyone.

Work for it or pay for it.

Try search engine queries... I am sure there are thousands of wholesalers who trade in anything from livestock to electrical items and from fashion to food and drink.

There will an investment involved on your part so it won't be easy for you to start trading, maybe dropshipping is another avenue for you to consider.

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

A great place to start looking is www.alibaba.com. It is a world trade site and you can pick up some great products at wholesale prices. Just be very aware you do not get riiippppeedd big time, these kind of places are full of scammers that will have you drop a few grand into there western union account and not send you anything. Due diligence is required when importing from overseas

Have fun :)

If you are struggling to decide which products to buy or where to buy them from / how to stock them, I would definately perform a search on Google for a UK Dropshipper : Google Search Link

You can then start selling with little investment and because you make purchases AFTER you have made a sale and collected payment you never run the risk of losing money from buying stock you can't sell!

Once you discover which items are popular and you enjoy selling you could concentrate on buying in bulk providing you have the required time and storage space.

Finding the products is the easy bit, it's actually selling the stuff you advertise that's difficult!

Good luck.

The best advice anyone ever gave me was 'know your product'. I started off using a dropshipping service a few years ago and selling via an online auction site (not sure if i can name names ?) I got to know my dropshipper well and kept in touch regularly. I knew exactly how much stock was available and never let a customer down. Not all dropshippers are the same and some care about themselves only so becareful if you go down that route.

When I'd made a nice earner through that I decided to buy my own stock and learn more about the products and market. In my opinion it's better to be able to see what you've got and check it out thoroughly before selling it on. Don't be swayed by what you personally like, some of my best selling products are things I wouldn't shake a stick at lol. Not that they are inferior quality, they just arn't something I particularly like.

I spent months trawling through the net searching out wholesalers, it's very time consuming but worth it in the end. Google for a wholesaler in which particular product you want to sell and go from there. Buy trader magazines, theres a wealth of info in those too. Get to know your wholesaler, mine will now make me something I want if I give them info on what it is im after.

Good luck with it :)
