Order not registering fully in system

I recently had an order on my osCommerce site that was rather troubling.

 

I got not notice from the osCommerce system that there was an order but I did receive an email from PayPal telling me I had funds.

 

The order was in the Orders list and I was able to modify it and print invoices and packing slips.

 

But none of the product was removed from inventory and the product sales aren't showing up in my "Best Seller" box.

 

It appears as if only part of osCommerce is aware of the order

 

Has anyone seen this before and is anyone aware of a way to avoid having this happen? I have had other orders go through properly without this issue.

Funny, I came on the forums to report the exact same issue. You might want to try to set auto-return in your paypal account settings (which didn't work for me but its worth a shot if you didn't already).

I'm using PayPal IPN which doesn't have that option.

 

That end of the process worked well... it appears. I've set my status states to different values now to determine if there was a problem in that process.

really depends which one of the paypal IPN contributions you're using. There is one I remember that updates the stock after the admin changes the order status or something like that. It was using a different checkout process file.

Its worked fine with my other orders so the only thing I can think of is that this user's browser had a security setting that interrupted the process and gave him an option to not return to my store

 

Unless there is an issue in OSC that I am unaware of

go for the latest paypal IPN by osc team it does reduces inventory.

Sorry but the IPN system I have does work with the exception of this one order I am concerned with.

 

I hope I did make that clear.

 

I am using the OSC IPN contribution
