racespec Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 hey Guys On a very very regualr basis, i am forced to keep reuploading my database, as it is constantly disappearing for some reason How can i stop this form further occurring? What steps do i need to take to check whats going on Your help is much appreciated Tarek RACESPEC
vasttech Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I would check the log files for your server to see who is accessing it when the database disappears. I would also check with my webhost to make sure it is not an issue on their end. Some hosts have been known to delete databases if they go above the alloted storage space. Also, make sure you have a strong password set for the database and change it immediately in case someone is hacking around in there. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions
asdqert Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Little addition to above, if there are any extraextra-safety options such as safe-mode on, try it for a week and check again after. And oh, I'd think any skilled hacker would erase any logs after operating right? Not much use in that anyway then. :/
