Guest Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Karl: With all due respect, and please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any changes that you've made from the stock install other than the logo (you should probably stay away from blinking gifs, they make people crazy  ) Instead of asking for a review, I would put in as much time as possible poking around the forums and reviewing some live sites that are in your category. There are hundreds of contributions to choose from (including some essentials like a thumbnail contrib). Just take the time to learn. It's worth it! Working on your site is a never-ending process. Once you think you are done.... oh, wait just... one... more... contrib  Also, it looks like you've spent the time to insert 175 prods (I'm guessing manually) but IMO the prods should be next in line AFTER your design/development phase with the exception of maybe 10 or so for testing.
Interceptor Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Got agree with above post, dont see anything different from standard layout, apart from logo. Some of the things you need to do, IMO 1) Fill out information in CONDITIONS and SHIPPING info pages 2) Remove language box on the right colum, seeing as you are displaying in English only. 3) Setup some SSL 4) Assuming you are UK based, you need to change the following on your create account page CITY should be TOWN, and STATE/PROVINCE should be COUNTY 5) No need for customer to tell you their gender or date of birth on create account page. 6) Email sent regarding security issue This is just a few things for you to read up on. Hope it helps
chooch Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 But for the logo in the header and the image contribution in product info, I really can't see what you have done. If this is your first osC store then by all means you should be proud of yourself but being proud that you got this far is basically a step in the right direction, not the end of your work! Try adding fixed width and use the stylesheet to give your site some real colour. Good Luck Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
Guest Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I would consider removing all the capital wording and replacing with mixed case. Also, the categories box is really hard to read. Some titles take up multiple lines, and there is no easy way of figuring out the full category name without mousing over.
