Flotec Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 What is the best and easiest way to install oscommerce at the root of the webserver? I want to have the first page at www.mydomain.com instead of www.mydomain.com/catalog.
Jack_mcs Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I don't understand the question. Do you have it installed already and want to move it or is this a new install? Flotec Posted March 15, 2007 Author Posted March 15, 2007 I'm going to do a new install. Not done anything yet.
Darky10 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Do you not takes all the files out of the catalog, and put the files in the root? zip em up and unpack on the hosting. You might need to change your config files after you do this. Some contributions like easy populate [i think] require an update to the file if you take os out the cat. :P
khime Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 For a new install, just go into the catalog/ folder on your local hard drive press cntrl + A (select all) then copy to your root webfolder then run http://www.yourdomain.com/install Put in the correct settings again then should be ok.
