yos40 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Today i got this E-mail But to be honest i have no idea how to work with codes i was thinking maby one of the masters of this place will be able to do a better Job Yossi, I enjoyed speaking with you today. To recap our conversation, Freightquote Connection provides a flexible API using XML technology, which allows you to build a seamless integrated solution with us. This technology will allow you to automatically populate your website pages or systems with accurate shipping charges for your users to see. XML allows these solutions to be presented in real time vs a batch process orientation. I’ve attached an informational brochure you can share with others. We will provide you sample code through our Programmer’s Reference Guide, which will provide you the ability to connect easily into Freightquote. Your transactions are authenticated against your FQ account. Your IT people will be able to complete the implementation in a very short period of time. By using Freightquote Connection modules you will be able to build backend rate quoting and send through pickup requests along with retrieving images of bill of ladings. The Rate Connection quote responses will be returned to you with multiple carriers in order by price, which will allow you to choose how to display options to your users. Shipper Connection module gives you the ability to select the carrier and send through a pickup request, which will dispatch the shipment. You can also build in controls to determine which carrier is chosen by each shipment. (e.g. cheapest, transit time, specific carrier etc.). Freightquote Connection includes the following modules to allow you to connect your system to your existing FQ Account. • Freightquote Rate Connection supports quoting accurate rates and transit times of multiple carriers from FQ’s state of the art rating engine. • Freightquote Shipper Connection supports requesting pickups to the selected carrier • Freightquote Tracker Connection supports tracking of shipments Here’s a couple examples for you to review. Floor Mall This site at www.floormall.com allows the user to enter flooring products into the shopping cart and enter the amount of cartons requested. To get a shipping estimate, the user can enter the destination zipcode to calculate the shipping. The site then populates an estimated shipping cost for a sub total. Their script parses the XML response to grab the cheapest rate. Once the user is ready to checkout, the shopping cart provides information to the user that they will be required to indicate delivery options to finalize the actual shipping cost for a final total cost. The user selects the appropriate delivery option (residential delivery, business with loading dock, construction site, liftgate delivery) to quote based on user delivery preference. The new shipping quote is displayed with appropriate accessorial charges included and payment collected. Vendingworld.com This site allows the user to also enter products into a shopping cart and then calculate shipping onto the item price. This site allows the user to select which carrier they want to use. The user can also run a quote on an item before selecting it into the shopping cart. You can check out their site at www.vendingworld.com You can select the link “Freight quote” which will take you to the page to just run a quote. It will prompt the user to enter their zipcode, location type and if a liftgate is needed. eBay Freight Resource Center eBay offers their sellers the ability to add a freight calculator and supplies a wizard process during the item setup. You can view a demo by going to their site at http://www.ebay.freightquote.com/FreightHome.asp and click on the “interactive demo” link. This is a great demo to show users how the calculator setup process works through eBay. There are several other links, which guide the user through a setup and provide further informational tips and tools. Once you have reviewed the above examples, please let us know that you are ready to move forward. Below are steps we would anticipate as part of moving forward with you. Next Steps 1. Deliverables – Once you’ve decided to move forward I’ll send you the following. a. Programmer’s Reference Guide – I’ll forward our technical papers which provides you all the details for you to pass shipment details and retrieve quotes, and then display pricing viewable for your users. b. Powered By Freightquote – We’d like to be acknowledged for our technology. I’ll send you a logo, which you can add to your site or application. 2. Implementation – The following processes can be supported through this. a. Optional Kick-off –This can allow you and the developers a chance to provide additional insight to project scope, expectations, and timing along with coordinating with Freightquote. This is helpful so that we can provide timely follow ups, additional insight that the guide may not cover and handle any questions. b. Requirements – We’d just like to know a few details such as i. E-Commerce solution or ERP system you are integrating with ii. Developer’s contact details iii. What modules will you be using? iv. When do you want to go live? c. Testing - the Programmer’s Reference Guide includes a test account(s) so that testing can be completed without disrupting live shipment processes. d. Questions - Pamela Mattes will be available for all questions your developer may have through the implementation process. She can be reached by email at [email protected] or 800-323-5441 ext 1205 3. Go Live - To turn your web site live your developer will then need to switch the XML requests to use your current live Freightquote account login and passwords. We are excited that you and your company are looking to integrate with our Freightquote Connection. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with you further. Once you have reviewed the above we would like to schedule a call to discuss with you and/or any other contacts, please let us know. Sincerely, Chris Branch New Business Representative Freightquote.com 16025 W. 113th Street Lenexa, KS 66219 800.323.5441 x1541 fax 913.319.0729 web www.freightquote.com And here is a PDF that was deliverd with the E-mail, It looks like it has everything you need http://www.c-square-d.com/ProgrammerReferenceGuide.pdf Have a great day everybody! rhotheta164 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) It would be great to see a Freight Quote contribution! Our company has been using them for over 5 years with out any bugs. I have seen the Programmer’s Reference Guide and is over my head. Until a contribution is created I would suggest checking out the fedex freight contribuation. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3655 Edited March 20, 2007 by rhotheta164 Quote

Guest Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I may have a client that is interested in a freightquote.com module, and I can only seem to find discussions such as this that seem to say "It would be great" but don't lead anywhere. Does anyone here know if there is currently a module for freightquote? If not, I will work to build one, but I am just wondering if anyone else has an OSCommerce solution for connecting to freightquote. Quote
