m5n6
Anybody know a good software or source code in php or vb to do the job? (I don't have access to gd library now) Thanks in advance!
outdoorgiftshop
I'm not sure if you have photoshop but I created a droplet where I can throw hundreds of images in photoshop and it automatically resizes them and saves them. That's been the easiest for me. OutdoorGiftShop.com - Bring The Outdoors Home
Guest
I use Macromedia Fireworks for doing this, point it at your files, set a maximum width and height, tell it to add either a suffix or a prefix to the thumbnails it creates ie tn_ or _tn, select the optimisation type ie jpg or gif and specify compression settings for them and click go. Takes a couple of minutes to a couple of hundred fules, depends mostly upon the initial image size. When you are done you can save the setting as a script and run them at any future time. m5n6
Thanks you guys! 1 more question, if I have 10 pictures with very differnt sizes,I want to shrink them to the same size, will some pictures become visually bad?
outdoorgiftshop
Yea it could if they are not the same ratio as your set size. They can look very distorted depending on how far off the ratio is. I would suggest either set a width or a height contraint instead of both OutdoorGiftShop.com - Bring The Outdoors Home
