add production description field to all products

I am setting up an OsCommerce store for a jewelry store. All products would have weight and size. I wonder if it's possible to add extra product description field at "new product" page, so i don't need to enter the description one by one at the product attribute page. i believe i may need to add an extra field at the database to the contain the information, right?

 

Please help if you know some mod that i can use or some suggestions about how I can mod OSCommerce effectively. Thanks
