Wanted an Image withe the store name in title. Get either image no text or standard text next to a small box. If I can only use one  What is a good way to add text to an image like was done with oscommerce logo?

 Or any Ideas on how to Make large Text that is colored for store name?

Thanks for help .

You can use them both but it is generally not a good idea. The text in the logo generally doesn't look good with standard fonts. If you use a non-standard font, then not everyone will be able to view it.

Greg, just use a graphic tool such as Photoshop and create your logo with any combination of text and graphics. Then save the logo as a graphic in a web graphic format such as gif, jpeg, png, ect. This will allow your logo to look the same no matter what font or browser the user has.

The default osCommerce.gif was created in the manner above.

Set the image as a background and then just style the text that goes over the background. You then have the option of changing the text whenever you like without having to touch the image.

This would work and although it sounds like it allows for flexibility, it really limits you to text styling. Designing your logo outside of osCommerce is the proper way.

Most professional design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. have layer capabilities that allow you to “place” text over an image. These programs also have far superior text editing tools where the sky is the limit to what you can do.

Once you get your logo the way that you want it you would simply save it as a flattened image (no layers) in a format such as jpeg, gif, etc. After that is done, you can then upload it into your header.
