Guest Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 Hello all, I asked this question on an earlier post along with another question. Didn't get an anwer, so I am splitting them up. In order to enter the correct weight setting in the product additions page in the Admin section so UPS shipping charges are correctly calculated, I need to know what the basic unit of weight measure for products is in osCommerce. Is it pounds? Kilograms? Aardvarks? :) Going live as soon as I get Authorizenet working properly. Jerry Nielsen
mattice Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 It's Aardvarks. But don't tell the ALF or they will burn Haralds house down. It just doesn't matter. You decide what it stands for and use that to calculate your shipping costs. So if the product weight 3.4 Aardvarks you'll have to tell the aardvark_shipping_mod.php what 1 Aardvark will cost. That mod will then say ... eehhhh, we have 3,4 Aardvarks for this guy.. ehm that will be 3,4 * PriceToShipOneAardVark Somewhere in the translation files it mentions lbs. but you can change that to whatever you use. Guest Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 Mattice, I had an inkling it was aardvarks. :D I see how it gets done. I guess since the US uses pounds, I'll figure things on that. But don't you think aardvarks is a lot more interesting? Jerry
