Running own test server help

Ok ive had enough of trying to upload 50 million times when something goes wrong. Ive installed Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2.1 and MySQL 5 server all onto my PC. THey are all working.. But.. Now,

How do i actually RUN osC ?

 

WHere would i upload the files to? and what would the address be? all i know is Http://localhost/

The folder htdocs is the equivalent of a servers public_html folder. It is here where http://localhost points and where your files should go.

 

I would also suggest that you download and run phpMyAdmin in this folder.

I have another problem now, when im trying to install it via the htdocs folder, i can get to the installer, but after i press next at step 1, it does nothing :| I dont know what im doing wrong :( no errors no nothing.. its as if the next button just refreshes the page!
