Guest
I've just tried to install this mod, http://www.oscommerce.com/downloads.php/co...ions,219/type,1 and it seams to have gone wrong, if you look here you will see what i mean www.ichip.co.uk I backed up all the original files before starting and have since tried to re-install the old files, but still the error remains. The only other thing i have done is, with this mod there are 2 SQL files that i needed to run, so i tried to import it through phpmyadmin. But it now looks like the site can't connect to the database. Before i started i also backed up the database to make sure i had a copy. If anyone can give me some advice, or if you need more info please let me know. Thanks Philip
Guest
if you have restored the original files... I'd say it is a db problem, especially since you have changed it. You can restore the db through php admin... that is where i'd start... but i'm no db expert
Ian
If I remember correctly, this mod involves adding some defines to configure.php(sic) it's probable that you have entered these incorrectly. configure.php then would fail to parse and no db connection parameters would be created. Hence your error message. Check the additions you made to configure.php carefully. Trust me, I'm an Accountant.

Ian
Do you have full control of the MySql server. The other possibility is that you have deleted/changed/corrupted the system tables. If you are on a hosted MySql server there should be no way this could happen. If you have mashed them, then unless you know MySql really well, then a reinstall is probably in order. So the question is, is it your own server or hosted?? Trust me, I'm an Accountant.
