catalano Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Hello All, I have a fully functioning OSCommerce installation working for one of our customers. I'd like to be able to move the download folder to a different server (due to bandwidth and space limitiation). I've searched through the threads here and can't find any information on how to do that. I thought it might have something to do with the 'download by redirect' setting in the admin section, but I can't find any documentation on what that setting does. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Chris

Thanks, Chris Hiya, I did this a while back, all i did was to write an HTML file that called for the download from the server of choice, encrypted it so it could not be found and Zipped it. Placed it in the Download files. Worked a treat for me! then the customer unzip's the file and clicked the Download button. The encrypted bit was to stop the location getting out and costing me. Hope this help you out, just a simple way around it! Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post [/url] My Contributions
catalano Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 Hi Nic, That's an interesting approach. The only problem is that once someone downloads the html file it can then be 'shared' and anyone can have access to the desired download. That is if I understand your process correctly.
