Jan0815 Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 Will there be an vbulletin Integration .. ?? That is not on our TODO list. But maybe there will be a contribution by someone else? I do not know of any plans in that direction though. I use it already and integrated it for our needs..also we changed some tables on vbzulletin to make the login only one time..for now we try the way, that new users have to ligin and register in the shop..also a login try in the forum will redirect the user in the shop.. Well - if you are that far than maybe you could put together a contribution ;-) Second Question:How do i change all the style..i mean how yould i implement graphics for the side boxes..? i really not searched long to try changing the style..but i did not see..any tmeplates wich i could change for the graphic surface .. and there was no option to edit templates in the admin panel.. Style and layout modficiations can be achieved by editing the stylesheet.css file. And you could modify the boxes class to add those graphics. osCommerce does not (yet) use templates. Jan0815 Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 Oops. I didn't check licenses. Thanks for the info, Paul_C. That should answer the original question. Don't integrate them if you plan on distributing that solution, either gratis or not. You can't have everything. Paul_C Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 Oops. I didn't check licenses. Thanks for the info, Paul_C. That should answer the original question. Don't integrate them if you plan on distributing that solution, either gratis or not. You're welcome, but whether or not it ends up distributed doesn't matter; simply making the merger, even just for personal use, violates the GPL. bacon tacon Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 What about integrating oscom with phpBB? That's open-source forum software, and it's great, and we're using it here. My site has a forum (as above), (will have) a shop (oscom) and an auction. Asking for 3 usernames and passwords (or 3 logons) seems a bit much. I don't know if it would present any security issues.
Highlander Posted November 20, 2002 Author Posted November 20, 2002 no way .. sorr.. we got 8.000 mebers on one board.. so we just get a new leased license.. we did so much to integrate vb board in our site .. but nice idea.. thx i love my life
wizardsandwars Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Bacon, there is an integrated BB php contribution, however it does not integrate the logins. I'd love to see someone take on this task. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. Guest Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Many vBulletin contributions are made under GPL and integrate into the core code which is not. Never knew it would be a problem as long as the copyright and license is specific enough. However if you want to work on an integration of the two, check out vBulletin.org where thousands of people actively working on vBulletin contributions will be more than happy to help you. wizardsandwars Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Wayne, if you could build or have someone build me an integrated vbulletin into OSC, I'd buy it. I'm not really interested in paying for a solution, and then doing the legwork to have it integrated, though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.
