Dennisra
I have had this problem for years now. About 75% of new cutomers fail to click on the final "Confirm Order" button. The percentage is even higher for those trying to pay with PayPal. Everything is fine with people that know what to do but the new guy has a hard time picking up on that final "Confirm Payment" button. Just about everyone eventually completes an order after I write them and explain what they need to do but that gets tiresome. Anyone else have this problem and if so what did you do to solve it. Perhaps there should be a popup window that says the order didn't complete if they don't click on the confirm button. Suggestions??
Guest
I am a designer by trade and I would recomend 2 things here. My feelings with the osc checkout confirm page is it needs to be basic and to the point try removing all the mumbo jumbo in the page leaving the order details and shipping type and cost with a big confirm order button that is a different color from the rest of the site make it stand out and make them want to click on it! Next I would use a contribution called recovered cart sales it works wonderful and shows all people that have abandoned their cart and you can contact them via email with a discount offer or a survey asking them why they didn't checkout. Generally it is something caught their attention or there was just to much in their face at one time. General cunsumers want basic and order now. Not all the extras this will help with client retention and sale automation. Here is the link to the contribution. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ch,recover+cart Hope this helps you can alway catch me on yahoo. I have had this problem for years now. Dennisra
Thanks for your reply Kevin. I know about the cart recover contribution which requires follow up and I do that as I mentioned in original post. I am looking for a way to eliminate the necessity of follow up. A cure for the problem without the seller having to personally intervene. Thanks again.
jasonabc
Change the "Order Confirmation" heading to "Please Confirm Your Order" (the former is misleading) Design a bigger, more visible button for button_confirm_order.gif Place this at the top (as well as the bottom) of the order_confirmation page to make it more visible. These simple steps should help. Jason My Contributions: Paypal Payflow PRO | Rollover Category Images | Authorize.net Invoice Number Fix
