georgyp
well, basically, im not to sure where to start, erm, firstly i have several hundred photos of my products for sale saved on an independant server, how do i copy the photo url into the product area as there dosent seem to be a facility to add self hosted pictures, ive only found the facility to add a picture if its stored on the computer its self, also how do i place my website logo on the home page of the webpage. regards georgy
worldpar
"...how do i copy the photo url into the product area" I am assuming you are going to admin to load products one at a time using the browse option to pick the photo to upload. If so... You can copy your image file to "my documents" or "my pitcures" on your pc and upload from there. But with several hundred to do this will take a long time. The fastest way to do this is to download the database to your pc and add the photo urls, copy your images to ../catalog/images and your up and running. But this is a bit more detailed. "also how do i place my website logo on the home page of the webpage" Here again i'm assuming you are talking about replacing your logo for the osCommerce logo at the top left of the page. That is an image. You can change it by adding your logo image at ../catalog/images/oscommerce.gif Make sure to save your logo as oscommerce.gif Let me know if that is of any help and or if you want to know more about loading the database Thanks Worldpar

worldpar
lol, yes i will require some more help, i had not the first clue it was going to be nearly so , osCommerce as far as I can tell is a very good program. It seams to load fast it's very functional. But it does take a little getting used to. Changes are not that difficult really it's just a matter of knowing where to look. Do you have any web experince or working with html code? Thanks Worldpar

worldpar
To edit that osCommerce.gif you need a photo editor that will allow you to add text and images to you photos to create your logo or find a picture you like for your logo and add your text to it. I use MS PitcureIt. I'm sorry to say that you do indeed have your hands full. I use MS FrontPage to edit my websites. You need a way to upload and download files to your server. There are several really good free html editors that will do the job. But having no experience with even html editor software puts you at a disadvantage. Because osCommerce is written in php and some fixes have to be made in the code itself. Thanks Worldpar
