Hello team,

 

I have had this site up for a bit now and I think I have looked at it so much I just got stuck. I need to improve it so please give me your opinion.

 

I am looking for some critique on my design and layout. Is it professional, Would you buy from this site (if no then why not).

The Store

• First observation is users with 800x screens must scroll right to see the entire site.
  
• Do you really need this? "Home Decor sites at Top100.biz"
  
• Copyright 2006 is old news! (just kidding!) Try 2007.
  
• The font size of the product name on the product_info page is uncomfortably large.
  
• I would also center Powered by osCommerce underneath the copyright info.
  

I really like the image enlarge and the stock indicator :) Overall, really nice :)

The site was a bit more narrow and it just looked strange on a 1024 resolution so I optimized it for that (I guess you just have to make a decision when it comes to sizing).

 

Believe it or not the top100.biz so far is the only backlink that is noted by google for this site. I have been doing a bunch of link builiding but I am not sure that I want to get rid of it just yet. I will fill that spot with a BBB seal after I meet the criteria of being listed as a business for one year.

 

I appreciate your input on the font size. I thought about altering it to be a bit smaller.

 

Centered the OScommerce at the bottom.

 

This is good and valuable input.

Your site is looking good - slight attack on the senses though - so much going on all in one page!

 

The centered text in the bestsellers infobox is difficult to read - maybe it would be better left justified?

 

Spellchecking needed in some of your text - especially in the PDQ description at the bottom of the homepage.

 

Love the image viewer - where did you get that from????

Sometime just reordering things and changing colour can lift a site. Would you consider reordering the infoboxes in column_right.php?

 

Your see, in addition to forgoing people with 800x screens, you forget that some of us have short screens. I can see the Amazon logo, no further. So what I am proposing is keeping people on your site instead of moving on to eBay, etc.

On the left for Best Sellers, unbolding the text would help.

 

On your product_name, increasing the character limit to for that field in the data base will help this:

I didn't search through everything but are any products rated? If not, and your site has been up a while, perhaps people just aren't interested in rating.

To my opinion, the 4 homepage images aren't so clear though, to what they refer to (the furniture for ex.)

Would soften the home page to be a bit less "crowded", so customers would focus more easily.

 

The pop up is cute, can you help by referring to this contrib/code?

I see your use ebay logo and linked your ebay store to your website.

 

 

I'm considering the way to link my ebay store to my web site too.

 

Just wondering ....... Do you join the eBay Affiliate Program ? or do you just add a hyper link and get the logo from ebay website ??
