clan55
Hi all I have had a look around the forums for an answer to this but didn't find anythig conclusive, so i am posting myself. Disclaimer: I am a newbie - please be patient  I have just installed OSC and the error message stating that i need to change permissions for the configure.php file is in red at the top of my new shop. I have gone into my ftp client and the permissions for configure.php were set to 644 by default. As the error was still displaying I set the permissions to 444 and still the same. TWO questions: 1. How do i get rid of this error message without impairing my own rights? 2. Will this error message display for anyone coming into the site or just me? Thanks for your help!! ErollorD
well changing permission to 444 should fix the problem but it seems there is something else here. Can we see the shop??
clan55
Just noticed that the permissions code (444) hasn't saved... Hmm. Is there another way to change the permissions than through the ftp client or is this something I should chat to my hosting guy about? Cheers! Had to untick a few boxes and the permissions changed with that. Thanks for the help!
