PURCHASE WITHOUT ACCOUNT

I want to give customers the option to purchase without having to log in. There is a contribution that deals with this (Purchase Without Account 8.2.07) howevr it appears that it is only applicable if

 

"This contribution is a modified file of create_account.php with will only be installed if:

 

- You have downloadable products AND;

 

there is no need to collect extra information as shipping, etc. *Only Gender, Name, DOB & Email will be collected."

 

I do not have downloadable products so it seems that it doesn't apply, also somebody else has written that it is a "worthless bag of bolts" Does anybody have any experience of using the contribution if not can anybody recommended an alternative solution.

i would not agree with that. i've got Purchase Without Account installed on my site, and it works fine, and i'm sure there are many others who do, too.

 

although i should say that i have done a significant re-work of OsC for my site, and don't really remember how much troubleshooting/debugging i had to do for PWA.

I have this contrib installed for a while now, but i have now noticed that when a order is made, all information apart from what they are ordering and payment is gone. No names no addresses email etc nothing.

 

anyone help me with this?

You shipping an billing information for that customer is under Orders and not under Customers as it is a pay without account so there is no customer information. There is the Buyers information under Orders.

Then you are using the wrong pay without account.

 

The purpost of pay without account is an optional checkout out for customers. Those that sign up for account are under your customers in admin, those that choose no log in for their checkout don't leave you their password and are found under orders in admin. This is the only way you know who has an account and who does not. The buyer without login password still has all the name, shipping, billing and email address the other customer has. If you don't have that info then you chose the wrong contrib.
