Modules not showing

Hi,

 

On the admin modules subsection all i get is:

 

Module Directory: /estore/catalog/includes/modules/payment/

 

This path exists and is correct!

 

I've read almost every post on other peoples issues and have tried everything i know:

 

1. Made sure files existed under languages and payments etc

2. changed permissions to 644 on the admin/includes/modules/payments dir.

3. got desperate then changed to 744!!

 

still no luck

 

any ideas?
